About the Event
Throughout her career, the New York-born, Oklahoma-schooled
singer-songwriter, Erin Austin, has rarely stayed still - putting
down professional roots in San Francisco, Los Angeles and
Denton, Texas, all the while working under—and living up to—
her artistic moniker, OK Sweetheart. After releasing her first
album, Home, in 2011, she settled in Seattle and tapped into the
fertile music community of the Pacific Northwest, writing,
recording and performing.
Beer partner, Reuben's Brews, is a small, family-owned brewery
located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Since
moving from the UK in 2004, co-founder and brewmaster Adam
was blown away by the diversity and quality of the brews in the
Pacific Northwest. The brewing bug took over and Adam
continued to hone his craft and won several more awards,
including a Silver Medal at the 2012 National Homebrew
Competition. This all led to the desire to share his brews with
more people and the opening of Reuben's Brews in August
2012.
Mother Africa is a local nonprofit that helsp African refugee and immigrant women & their families reach their fullest potential. Their programs emerge from the needs of our community. They meet members where they are with resource referrals, direct support, space to connect with peers, opportunities to celebrate, and much more.
